Bedlam’s First Press!

belltownpeople_headerA Local Belltown Blog was given a sneak peek at Bedlam, and did a really great write up about us. Check it out at the following link http://belltownpeople.com/2009/05/24/bedlam-coffee-coming-to-belltown

Jesse, the author really hits on some of the “big ideas” we have for Bedlam. A great big public “Thank You” to him for that.

even closer now

all the people have passed their health class, and got their cards…AND
we have scheduled our inspection for tomorrow, sometime tomorrow…

the question about whether we will be able to open sat is still up in the air, as the health dept has a furlough day on Friday, I’m not ruling out the possibility that the building inspector will be here early enough to call and get the health dept to inspect the same day…but, well…we’ll see, I do know that I made enough of a stink with the city that the health dept may be pretty eager to get me open…but we’ll see

deep breaths…

phew

Sorry about all the testing, I was attempting to find a wordpress plugin that announced new blog posts in the twitter account…three plugins later and I’ve got it…
soon I will be back to posting stuff to the blog…
for now, we are very close to getting the new coffeehouse opened…It has been very frustrating dealing with the city, and I’m so not done yet, I have some ideas that could help other small business NOT go through what we just went thru, it was insane…lost plans, lots of buck passing and just a general “we don’t care about getting new business’ open” mentality…the city council was actually fairly helpful, particularly Nick Licata (sp?) anyway…

We are very close now!

After two months we at last have a permit to begin the work on the new shop. Two months to get a permit to do about two days worth of work. We could be open as early as Saturday the 23rd, but certainly by next week without a doubt.
Are you following us on Twitter yet? follow us at @BedlamCoffee for up to the second updates on progress
