Another
underground/indi film site. I never knew there was this much
indi film out there and in two days I've found two huge repositories
for it. |

You
know when yr sweaters get those little balls all over them?
Well now rather than send them to the dry cleaners, or try
and shave them with a razor you can use this handy product
to remove them. AND you can try this handy product for the
price of shipping, there giving them away, and since they
last 10 years or more 4.99 is well worth it. My is on it's
way!
Works on
almost all fabrics! |
|

I'm
not even gonna go into why Battlestar Galatica is so great,
I'll let you read the short article over at WorldChanging
after the jump. It's not just the best new SciFi show on TV,
it's breaking new ground in it's use of the internet, if you
haven't seen it, You must. The best reason to get a satellite
dish or cable out there...trust me this is not yr average
show.ps-SciFi
channel is re-running the 2 part miniseris/pilot on 4/28 at
7pm |

Polyphonic
Spree fan? Of course you are, this fun little website built
in flash lets you travel from screen to screen clicking to
figure out what to do while listen to some Spree Tunes. Neato |
|
|
 |
Looking
for the next Spielberg or Lucas? Well student films can be
a good place to find them, some of these are very very good,
shockingly good, I was gonna post about a couple, but figured
it be more fun to just point you at the site and let you find
the good stuff yrself. Broadband required, but they do have
a modem version, and it's not ONLY for students, anyone can
host films here. |
|

File
this under silly giggle. I wish there was more to this site,
but it's silly enough to mention. |

You
like kaleidoscopes don't ya? well here's a fun little flash
kaleidoscope to play with. That's all it's just fun, it's
good for you. |

I
think right now it should be set into law that every cell
phone company, and any other company that puts up antennas
should have to do it this way. What way you ask? That tall
tree to the left is a cell phone antenna tower, with different
carriers on it, that's like 24 little antenna hidden inside
a fake tree. Brilliant.
they also
do palm trees and cactus |
|
|
 |
So
I've recently found a website devoted to nothing but t-shirts,
there is as strong a movement towards the art of t-shirts
as there is vinyl toys, this site has both. The T-shirts and
printing are really the focus, but you must seek out the toy
section too. |
|
|
 |
FUUUNY!
with a capitol F. people shaking their heads back and forth
in front of a camera. What else could I possibly say, just
go look, you need the laugh you know you do...
LOL,they
look like they were in a blender accident. |
|
|
 |
I
almost don't want to post this cuz I want to send one to somebody,
but oh well. Think MailArt package that's useful after the
contents have been removed, useful as a lamp... |
|
|
 |
The
third place winner of a design competition has designed a
wall that you can sit in, look thru and lean against. it looks
quite fun. I don't think it would serve as very good insulation,
and I might be nervous leaning against it 20 or 30 floors
up, but taking a nap IN a wall might be fun anyway. |

More

Wanna
waste some time? Google has added satelite images to the google

|
 |
Yes,
I'm blogging about a battery, but trust me it's no ordinary
battery, describing it requires the use of words like Nanotechnology.
It'll recharge in just over a minute and last way longer than
any other battery EVER. The first targeted use for this technology
is the automobile industry, promising electric cars could
really become the norm soon. A side note Toshiba is also hard
at work on a fuel cell for laptops AND cars. And all this
hot on the heels of there teany hard drive. Phew, looking
for a place to put some stock dollars? |
|
|
 |
Dubai
is already known as home to some pretty intense architecture,
well they're gonna be hard to beat for awhile thanks to this
new tower, BurjDubai (Tower Dubai) is slated to be the new
Tallest building in the world. Though actual height has yet
to be released, an elevator mock up has buttons going up to
an ear popping 189 floors, 189 floors! right now the tallest
is 101, so the BurjDubai is likely gonna be the tallest for
awhile.
...and if
you go to the EMAAR link at the bottom right, you can watch
a ton of expensivly produced videos about it, and other projects |
|
|
 |
It
was only a matter of time, I think Podcasting
is up there with some of the next great media things, I subscribed
to the Battlestar
Galatica podcast which
essential was director commentary you could listen to while
watching, and I subscribe to the Wooster
Collective
podcast, this however is touted as being the first
ever Podcast novel, subscribe for free and get each chapter
as they are produced. cool cool cool. It's the return of the
old time radio serials. |
|
|

Ok,
the art IS good, but you'll see I had no choice at all but to
post this. A Seattlite to boot. |
|

I
have an entire folder of sites like this, the Art Toy thing
is exploding. So expect to see more of these. |

My
love of PreFab is not secret, these guys have actually been
doing all the way thru the time it was groundbreaking, thru
the time it was completely uncool, till now, when it is perhaps
finally coming into it's own. |
|
|
 |
Some
of us have desks to put these things on, but ya know I don't
think I need to justify them as stress relievers for my over
amped executive lifestyle, there damn neato and that's enough
for me. |

Every
want a treehouse? The entrepreneur in me immediately saw a forest
filled with these, rented out to every grown up that wants to
spend the weekend in his/her treehouse dream. Is that bad? |
|
|
 |
I
dunno if anyone else will think this is cool, but damn! I
sure do...stronger than titanium, as easy to manipulate as
plastic, this friends is the stuff space ships are made from.
It's been in use in products since January and is cool cool
cool... |

Use

This
is just cool, they just won Best of Show at SXSW, and I think
every city should have something like it sure beats CitySearch.
Now I want to visit Montreal. |
|
|
 |
Some
may think this is disturbing, but it's pretty cool, and goes
well with the recycled toys link from last week, tho this
guys recreations are of a slightly darker nature.
The link
actually takes you to a collective of Austrailan artists,
a couple of which are pretty great also. |
|
|
 |
Everything
old is German again, there were only about four things cool
about the 70's, one of which was 1% of the clothes, These
guys have managed to capture that 1% in both nue/new and vintage/70's
pieces, a couple I might even have to buy. Groovy. |
|
|
 |
Hold
a world in the palm of yr hand, sounds cool doesn't it? Two
of the originals from the Bio Sphere project are still trying
to educate the public as to the nature of ecosystems, this
time with something very much like art. Treehugger
states that there affordable, but I couldn't find a price
anywhere on the site. |
|
|
 |
I
don't know exactly why, but at 12:37 am this made me laugh
outloud, perhaps you to will laugh.
there's

Now
I don't think the FAA will be approving this too soon, it's
a beautiful creation, and I would really love to ride one, but
wow can you image what just one little sparrow would do to that
huge intake fan, heck a tree branch would be just as dangerous,
nice idea |
|
|
 |
Hold
on now, wait a sec before you put down yr hard earned on the
iPod, Samsung might just have kicked the Llamas butt. It plays
every format but Apple's, and it has a FM receiver, and alarm
clock, AND five different click on color plates, phew... it
even has a cool wrap around headphone thing that allows the
headphone cord to be the neck suspension. |

You
know I never used to think about the disposable nature of
our consumerism, and when I did think of being "greener"
I was put off by the price, or the sheer ugliness. Braun however
has been making products for fifty years that "last."
It's strange in today's world to see something work for two
years, but to have something still work after 20 years, AND
look good. WOW.
Don't miss
the 1965 coffeegrinder that looks like it was made yesterday |

the best movies are less than 8 mins long. This beautifully
produced CG movie is not to be missed, so don't miss it! (I
wouldn't bother with the "premium download" unless

 |
Wanna
be in a movie? Well all you have to do is rush over to Expo2005

China
is gonna kick our butts in the alternative fuel movement,

the whole album on their website. |

Not
sure really what to call this, it's an art display, it's interactive
based on peoples movement inside the garage. The project is
assembled by a group that also has a few other really great
interactive works around the country.

day of creativity, one day a month set aside to do something
different, something new. Take a walk, paint a self portrait,
make a new friend. It doesn't really matter what you do to
celebrate the day, so long as it's not what you did yesterday. |

Yes, btw

A new, really great online toy store, and by toys I don't
mean the ones kids play with. And they even sell Ogi posters,
what coudl be better? |
|
|
 |
You
have got to check out this gallery, the real point of the
site seems to be to throw "tupperware-esq" parties
to recycle toys, but the gallery is really what it's all about
for me. |

In
their own words,
"La
Petite Maison du Weekend is a prototype self-sufficient minimal
dwelling. It can be relocated to virtually any outdoor site,
where it will provide the basics for everyday life: sleeping
for two, kitchen, shower, and composting toilet. Made of a
variety of materials and premanufactured components, it generates
its own electricity, collects and distributes rainwater, and
composts human waste using only the natural dynamics of the
site." |

this is

The goal? for 6million humans to all jump at the same time...goes

What
the heck is PodCasting? Let's learn together, but basically it's
Tivo for the radio industry. Still in it's infancy, but logic dictates
it could easily become the norm. Perhaps some investing would be
warranted in one of the forerunners.
Note-
it's not just for iPod either..wanna
know even more?

Ludwika
Ogorzelec. Currently showing in NY at 523
W 25,perhaps B33 would like to wonder over and check out his
latest installation, done in stretchy plastic, and spilling onto
the street out front. |

I
could be wrong, but I think Andy Warhol would really be into this,
maybe... 75$ isn't that bad either. I don't think I could get one
of myself, but a pet or maybe some random well etched face...
70s & Lichetenstien styles available too; they need Anime/Comicbook
style! |

SpotLite. Keiichi Irie, ultra clean and sleek, but rugged and stable
feeling as well. |

Sony
get's into the flash player game. Nice, looks more like an attachment
to headphones than an mp3 player. |

like
the screen cap says, this site gives you a sheet with little boxes
to write in, scan it, upload it and it turns yr hand into a font,
for a paltry 9$ you can then download it and install for use... |

 |
I
admit it, I like prefab, I like it, I like it allot. This is SpaceBox,
All you need is a building site and a crane... |
|
|
 |
The
Silver bit on the side is a built in suitcase, and a bed pops outta
the top... ok that last thing is dumb, but I like the design of
this car allot, it has that driving backwards feel of the Lexus
in Minority Report. |

The
Charlie's Angle's house is for sale. As is a whole lot of other
really cool pieces of architecture, not houses mind you, these are
pieces of architecture.
Seriously
there are some stunning things for sale. And
ironically CA's was on only hours after this post. |

This
is cool enough. I can easily think of some ideas for it's use, assuming
of course I wanna use up a couple printer cartridges and a ream
of paper. |

I
just don't know what to make of this, they want you to watch this
video for a year. I gather from the info that no one ACTUALLY sat
in these two rooms for a year, the project title becomes a reality
only after the first viewer has actually watched for a year. |

Ahhh...so
cute, you know you want one. |

Hector
the painting robot. I'd like to see what some kinda SciFi random
algorithm/A.I. might paint, but this is cool none the less. |

I
have quite a soft spot for concept cars, this site offers a nice
bare bones approach to the subject. |

The
photography is first rate, the living conditions are another story.
Not that these are slums mind you, these are the norm, the working
class apartments in Hong Kong.

Chueh. Artist Spotlight. Sad and beautiful, startling, cliche for

Shown
here is just the first project I checked out, this site is loaded
with great little DIYs, all of which have something very Gorilla
Designer about them.
Poke around till
you find the Suck & Win

These
are both cool to look at and to use, you operate them by waving
yr hand over the top to switch on and off. Raising, and lowering
yr hand over the hole will dim and lighten.

Anyone
wins the lottery I sure would like one of these 2500$ beauties.
